Honokiol is an isomer of magnolol. It is a dimer formed by the polymerization of the side chain of one phenylpropanol and the benzene nucleus of another phenylpropanol. It is called neolignan. It is used in Lauraceae. Found more in Magnolia officinalis, it is the active ingredient of Magnolia officinalis.
